The Formula

Needed = (Target - Current × Current Weight) / Final Weight.

Why It Matters

You have an 85% in your calculus class with a 30% weighted final exam, aiming for a B+ (90%). You need a 96.7% on the final — very challenging but possible with focused prep. Knowing this early lets you seek tutoring or adjust your target to a solid A- with a 90% final.
