Video to GIF Converter

Convert video clips to animated GIF format with customizable dimensions and quality.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Upload a video file using the file picker or drag and drop.
  2. Set the desired width (height will be auto-calculated to maintain aspect ratio).
  3. Choose frames per second (10fps is good for most GIFs, higher = smoother but larger file).
  4. Set the start time and duration of the clip to convert.
  5. Click 'Convert to GIF' and wait for processing.
  6. Preview the GIF and download when ready.

How It Works

GIF conversion uses FFmpeg's palette generation technique for optimal color quality. The process first generates an optimized color palette from the video frames, then applies it during GIF encoding. Lower FPS reduces file size but may make motion appear choppy. The GIF format is limited to 256 colors, so palette optimization is crucial for quality.
