Video Compressor

Compress video files to reduce file size while maintaining quality. Supports MP4, WEBM, and MOV formats.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Upload a video file using the file picker or drag and drop.
  2. Adjust the quality setting (CRF): lower values = higher quality but larger file (18-35 range).
  3. Choose an encoding speed preset: faster = quicker but less compression, slower = more compression.
  4. Optionally set a target file size or maximum width.
  5. Click 'Compress Video' and wait for processing (large files may take a while).
  6. Download the compressed video when ready.

How It Works

Video compression uses FFmpeg's libx264 codec with constant rate factor (CRF) encoding. The CRF value determines the quality-size tradeoff: 18 is visually lossless, 23 is the default (good balance), and 35 is heavy compression. The encoding preset controls the speed-compression tradeoff.
