How It Works

Video conversion uses FFmpeg to re-encode the video stream to the target codec. The codec choice affects compatibility and compression efficiency: H.264 (libx264) has broad compatibility, H.265 (libx265) offers better compression, VP9 (libvpx-vp9) is open-source, and MPEG-4 is a legacy format.
