EV Range Calculator

Know your EV range under real conditions, not just lab tests. Your range gauge shows how far you can drive: Critical range (under 50 mi / 80 km) means you should plan a charge stop within the hour. Low range (50-150 mi / 80-240 km) covers daily commuting but limits long trips. Good range (150-300 mi / 240-480 km) is comfortable for most errands and moderate road trips — most modern EVs fall here. High range (300-400 mi / 480-640 km) means you can handle cross-country trips with confidence. Very High (400+ mi / 640+ km) is luxury EV territory with virtually no range anxiety. Cold weather reduces range 20-40%, highway speeds cut it 10-20%, and using heating in winter is the biggest battery drain.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Enter your EV battery capacity.
  2. Enter your vehicle efficiency.
  3. Select typical driving conditions.
  4. Get realistic range and cost estimates.

The Formula

Range = (Battery / Efficiency) × 100 × Condition Factor.

Why It Matters

Your Tesla Model 3 has a 75 kWh battery using 0.25 kWh/mile. In perfect conditions you get 300 miles. In cold weather (0.8 factor), range drops to 240 miles — a 20% reduction. Planning 200-mile trips gives you a buffer.
